Laura H. Heller, CPA is a Shareholder with Jones and Kolb. With over 30 years of accounting experience, Laura has an expertise with not-for-profit organizations, and with small business accounting and taxation matters for high-net worth individuals and families. Specializing in charitable and educational organizations, trade associations, and foundations, Laura assists her not-for-profit clients navigate the ever-changing compliance and disclosure rules. She provides efficient, accurate, and solutions-oriented accounting, tax, and advisory services to help clients simplify their financial lives, and she creates customized strategies to fit their specific needs.
Laura is actively involved with the Firm’s Tax Exempt Association (TEA) Group, a monthly networking group formed in coordination with the Georgia Society of Association Executives (GSAE) and the Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN). TEA Group facilitates networking and discussion about accounting, tax, and managerial issues facing financial and administrative professionals with local not-for-profit organizations. She is also an active member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the TE/GE Council – Gulf Coast Area. In addition, as a community volunteer, she serves as the treasurer and business manager for a not-for-profit youth sports organization. She participates in various charitable functions, including AFSP, Mt. View UMC, LHS Fastpitch Booster Club, the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, and MUST ministries.
A magna cum laude graduate of Georgia Southern University, Laura earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting and management information systems. She enjoys spending time with her family pursuing hobbies and interests including softball, baseball, travel, fitness, and animals.
