Joel L. Pascaner is a Principal with Jones and Kolb. Joel has over 35 years of accounting experience, including 18 years as a Partner with a public accounting firm prior to joining Jones & Kolb. Joel specializes in providing comprehensive tax and advisory services to high net worth individuals and families. He is an expert in the areas of estates and trusts, partnerships, and S corporations, and privately held entities. Joel also has extensive experience representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service, and other taxing jurisdictions.  

Joel is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Atlanta Tax Forum, and the Atlanta Estate Planning Council. In addition, Joel is an at-large member of the Council of the Georgia State Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSPCA) and serves as Chairman of its Ethics Committee, and is a member of their Estate and Financial Planning Council. As an involved member of the GSPCA, he serves on the Federal State and Task Force and hosts a radio broadcast on business radio.  He has also served as Chairman of the GSPCA Tax Section where he earned the Distinguished Section Leader award in 2006, and Chairman of both the Federal Tax Legislation and Georgia Tax Legislation subcommittees where he was involved in the drafting and introduction of proposed legislation.  

Joel has authored numerous articles in professional and industry publications. He is a graduate of the Philanthropic Advisor Leadership Institute and was awarded the “Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Manager” by Atlanta Magazine for the years 2009 – 2014. He served on the Planning Committee of the Balser Symposium, the Board of Directors of the Interfaith Disabilities Network, and the Board of Trustees of Georgia Shakespeare. He is a Board Member of the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival and is their Treasurer. As a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Joel earned his B.S. in accounting, and as a graduate of Long Island University, he earned a Master of Taxation. He was co-chairman of the Atlanta Alumni Interview Program for the University of Pennsylvania.

Originally from New York, Joel resides in the Atlanta area with his wife and sons. When not assisting clients, he enjoys spending time with his family, biking, playing tennis and reading.
