G. Bliss Jones is a Shareholder with Jones and Kolb. Bliss has over 35 years’ experience, having worked as a CPA with an international accounting firm, a CFO of a public company and with Jones and Kolb since 1986. He specializes in providing accounting, auditing and advisory services for privately held businesses and not-for-profit organizations.
Bliss is a participant in several professional organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA) and the Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN). He currently serves on the AICPA Not-for-Profit Advisory Council. In addition to serving clients, Bliss is a frequent speaker on topics related to nonprofits, financial and tax matters. He is the coordinator for the Tax Exempt Association (TEA) Group which discusses accounting, tax and administrative issues often faced by nonprofit organizations.
A rare breed, Bliss is a native Atlantan. He earned his B.S. in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech and his Masters of Accountancy from the University of Georgia. When it comes to picking sides between the heated rivals that are both his alma maters, Bliss pulls for Tech but bets on UGA. In his spare time, he enjoys participating in several social clubs including the Piedmont Driving Club, the Atlanta Yacht Club, the Allatoona Canoe and Sailing Club (current Treasurer), the Spalding Woods Swim and Tennis Club (current board member), and serves on the board of G.R.A.C.E. Scholars.
Bliss and his wife have been together for over 35 years. They have three daughters, two grandchildren and the family is still growing! When he thinks no one is looking, Bliss loves to indulge in colorful attire and dance to beach and Motown music.
